Hi, I’m Danielle!
I am a Mom of 5 and an Evil-Step-Mom to 1. I’ve been married to my Hunka-Hunka-Burnin’-Love, Mike, for 10 years now. We are one big blended family of “His, Mine and Ours” and that’s what you’ll find me blogging about… the chaos of life with a large family. I like to think that blogging through this chaos is what keeps me from going out of my mind.
Where I’m From
We live just west of Chicago but we hope to move out of state sometime in the near future. We’re waiting for “my” last older child to graduate high school and then… we’re outta here! I have always dreamed of living some place warmer along the east coast like South Carolina or even as far south as Florida and Mike always dreamed of living in the Boston area (too cold for this Mama!) –but- we vacationed last year in Sanibel Island, in the Gulf, and we absolutely fell in love. Now we want to vacation in Florida for the next few years, all along the Gulf until we find ‘home’.
A Little More About Me
I love Jesus. I love coffee. I love photography, although I’m no good at it. I wish I was. I am infatuated with natural healthcare, living a green and organic lifestyle and do my best to live it – although sometimes it’s hard. And expensive.
I am seriously addicted to home renovation shows and my life dream would be to flip houses.
I love breastfeeding, co-sleeping and cloth diapering… but I haven’t cloth diapered in almost a year because I keep getting diapers sent to me for review. I have been breast feeding for two years now and I’d love to be done with it. Co-sleeping I can live with a little longer, providing I am not a human pacifier any longer (aka breast feeding).
I like to consider myself a Down Syndrome advocate because my little man has been blessed with that extra chromosome (Trisomy 21) so I love to write about it every chance I get.
How Did I Get Into Blogging?
I quit working outside of the home 5 years ago when My Gracie was born and now do childcare out of my home. I’m glad I can be home for my kids but caring for other people’s children can test my patience and that is when and why I originally started blogging, I needed a way to release my frustrations of being secluded in the home 24/7 with little people. In the beginning, I used my blog more as a journal to vent. A year later, I started reviews and shortly after that began looking at my blog as a business and was able to start using it for income to support my family.
Meet My Contributors
My hubby, Mike, occasionally shares his thoughts here on We Have It All. He also occasionally does reviews. Mike is a minister who is on fire for Jesus and loves all sports, entertainment and is a book-lover who’s always reading more than a few books at a time (and practically lives at our public library). Mike loves making people laugh and probably deserves to be one of the cast members of “Impractical Jokers” because he loves to act goofy to tries his best to embarrass us while out in public.
My sister, Kyle, will also be sharing here at We Have It All. She is a mom of three and a step-mom of one. She is a stay-at-home mom who does home childcare during the daytime. Kyle currently has no articles published, but I plan on using her to do travel reviews since she travels more than I do.
My 3 older kids, Austin, Emma and Becca will be doing reviews that pertain more to teens. Currently, Emma and Becca have published articles but no reviews.
Can I Show Off My Family?
They say a picture tells a thousand words, so I will share my life in photos below. If you don’t feel like sticking around while I brag on them… let me thank you for sticking around this far! I appreciate it! Feel free to contact me at Danielle@WeDontHaveItAll.com for more information.
This was our family before our little guy, Jack, joined us:
“I Have Found The One My Heart Loves” – Song of Solomon 3:4
Here is Our Clan:
Olivia, 20 Years Old – “His“
Austin is almost 17 Years Old – “Mine“
Emma is 15 Years Old – “Mine“
Becca is 13 Years Old – “Mine“
Our Gracie is 5 Years Old – “Ours“
Our Little Man Jack – “Ours“
Jack born in June (4 weeks Early) and perfectly healthy and healed by our Awesome God!
He had congenital heart failure and an issue with his brain while in my tummy which was going to require multiple open heart surgeries and possibly a brain surgery at birth… but we Praise God! for Jack’s healing!
He is sporting an extra chromosome which makes him extra cool and super special to us!
We love him more than words can say:
Isn’t he so sweet?!?
Here are more family photos (as if you haven’t had enough, right?!)
It’s a fast ride down a narrow road, so grab a cup of coffee and join us in our chaos.
OH! And if you see my magic cleaning fairy… send her back to me, I’m backed up on housework!
Thanks for reading!
