Being a mom of 6 – with four kids being teens (and older) who are in and out and on the go and hardly home, dinners tend to be a bit difficult… let a lone healthy dinners. Many times the older kids will run in at the end of the night and pop something in the oven for a quick dinner after me, Mike and the little two have already eaten. And many times, it’s not healthy. Not only that, we order out a lot – which need to stop. You have little control over the health aspect of your meal when you’re eating out. I’ve been wanting to pick a night or two to demand family dinners again. At least a couple nights of the week I will have more control over the nutrition in our meals. This is why when I heard of the Balance Your Plate campaign, I was happy to take part!
The Balance Your Plate Campaign
The Balance Your Plate is an educational campaign to help consumers build nutritious, delicious and convenient meals that meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The program gives recommendations for pairing frozen prepared foods like Stouffer’s Lasagna with Meat and Sauce along with a healthy side dish like fruits or veggies. When we have pasta, we normally pair it with a yummy salad and of course, garlic toast. Not sure about you, But I love dipping my garlic toast in the extra meat sauce!
Stouffer’s Lasagna with Meat and Sauce is made with real, quality ingredients. Layered pasta, vine-ripened tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and aged parmesan. YUM! NOBODY has any complaints at our dinner table!!
