A big thanks to BODYARMOR for sponsoring this conversation. All opinions are my own.

Back in July, I finally gave up. I gave up feeling like crap. I put my foot down and decided to get healthy. I made a few big changes and a few small changes. I started these changes mid-July and as of this moment, I have dropped 20 lbs.

  • I quit drinking pop – cold turkey.
  • I cut out most coffee too and started drinking Ganoderma coffee which is much healthier. (Besides that, I only drink water now.)
  • I eat smaller portions and eat as clean as I can.
  • I got active. I run or bike almost every single day for about an hour.
  • I drink a protein shake after workouts to repair my muscles.
  • I drink a BODYARMOR SuperDrink after workouts to rehydrate my body.

I’m not a great runner, mostly because I am too slow. The best I ever did was a 10 minute mile and that was back 5 years ago before I had Gracie and Jack. Before I had Gracie I used to run 6 miles a day, in an hour. I was in much better shape too. When I started running back in July, I was 30 lbs. over weight. My daily goal was to run or bike for an hour each day. Another goal was to run 4 miles and eventually hit 5 miles. Once I started biking, my goal was also to put in an hour a day but also to hit 8 miles or more. I’m doing pretty good but I’m only working out about 4 days a week. I am happy that I’ve dropped 20 lbs. but I have 10 more to go and I’m at a standstill. I run with my step-daughter or my teen daughters and I bike with Mike (ha, that rhymes!). When we’re finished, we’re dripping with sweat and soooo thirsty. My bike has a water bottle holder but when we run – we have nothing until we get home. Up until now, we’ve just been drinking water but this week we were sent BODYARMOR SuperDrink to try out. BODYARMOR SuperDrink rehydrates your body with electrolytes, vitamins and more.

BODYARMOR SuperDrink really quenches your thirst and replenishes your hydration and it tastes great too. This will definitely be a staple in our house from now on. All of the kids have tried the drinks, even Gracie. Mike can even drink these, being diabetic he tries to stay away from carbs/sugars. These only have 18 sugars but it’s pure cane sugar – not the crappy high fructose corn syrup or any kind of artificial sweetener.

My hubby drinks sports drinks all the time. I will have to tell him about these!

    2. My boyfriend works in a powder coating plant and it’s hot all the time. He drinks a ton of sports drinks, so this looks like a great alternative to the Powerade he downs!

    3. My kids drink a lot of sports drinks. I am going to have to try these because they definitely seem better than what I have been giving them.

    4. This looks like a great sports drink. I will have to find it by me.

    5. Totally gonna have to try this. I drink sports drinks often, nice to see no artificial!

    6. Wow, I have never heard of these but they sound perfect. Hubby is on two different soccer teams and I work out five days a week… so I totally need to check these out.

    7. This sounds like a great drink to stay hydrated especially when exercising. I like that coconut water is used.

    8. I need to get some of these for my daughter. She has to drink sports drinks because she dehydrated easier and this sounds so much healthier.

    9. Sounds good! I’m not one for running that much, but this might help at Orange Theory!

    10. Amy Desrosiers says:

My husband pretty much does the same and work out a lot. He is not huge, but very fit. He loves drinks like these too.

    11. This looks like an awesome sports drink. I will have to look for it when I go to the store. My son could use this for his workout too!

    12. My son would love this. Looks like an awesome superdrink sports drink. I will have to look for it in my store and try it! :)

    13. That is super cool! My nephew could really use this for Tai Kwan Do.

    14. This is great! I love that it’s all natural and packed with B vitamins. This would be great for my workouts.

    15. What a great energy drink. Tons of potassium and B vitamins with natural sugar? Sounds like a winner to me.

    16. Hi there, Nolie’s husband Tobei commenting on her behalf. I couldn’t help but notice that you’re seemingly just replacing one source of junk (soda) for another with these “superdrink” things. Each contains 140 calories, 30mg of sodium, 620mg of Potassium and 34g of sugar. That’s only 5g less sugar than a can of Coke.

    17. I will tell my son as he works out and is always looking for new sports drinks.Thank for telling us about this drink.

    18. Good for you on dropping those 20 lbs!
It’s always the lifestyle changes that are the hardest. Seems you were pretty determined and did it! Go You!

    19. My husband would love this after he mows the lawn. He always wants me to pick up sports drinks to have on hand, so this would be great.

    20. These would be great to have in this Texas heat. I had never heard of them until now. I can’t wait to give them a try.

    21. This looks like a great drink! I want to try it.

    22. Body Armor is not all natural. Body Armor contains cyanocobalamin, a chemical compound with a laundry list of possible side effects that include hives, difficulty breathing, swelling, headaches, nausea, upset stomach, diarrhea, joint pain, and itching.

According to the label, one bottle has 200% of an adults RDI of this chemical. What would that be for a small child? 400%, 500%, more?
