This Week:

Well, things got a little better this week. I am still having a hard time managing my time but I still managed to go workout every other day. I tried to go the other days but timing just didn’t workout.

I was able to stick to around 2 miles which isn’t what I want. I used to do 6 (1hour on the treadmill or elliptical = 6 miles/1 mile per 10 min. because I’m S.L.O.W.) The girls are difficult to workout with so they always rush me. They are bored {insert whiney voice here} or they are tired {insert whiney voice here}, or their legs hurt {insert whiney voice here}. Um. DUH! This isn’t supposed to be like laying on the beach. Ugh, I NEED to get the girls more active, but it’s hard to put up with.

Then one day Mike rushed me. He wouldn’t stop calling me and I was ready to kill him. All in all it was an okay week. Every other day is better than nothing – right?!?

Since we didn’t go every single day, I wasn’t able to stick to the workout plan I wanted:

Our Workout Plan:

  • Day 1: lower body
  • Day 2: chest and back
  • Day 3: shoulders and arms.
  • Each day we will be doing cardio and abs and triceps.

We are planning on rotating these 3 workout days but Instead, we did the elliptical every day, 6 leg machines and 3 ab machines. Next week I plan on adding triceps to my every workout regardless of which day it is.

So here’s a quick run-down of my week

  • Diet: Eating has been about the same. I did have a little bit of pop but I drank a good amount of water and ate a salad every day.
  • Activity:  We worked out every other day do. Was able to do 2 miles and leg and ab machines.
  • Weight: I started at 178 and was down to around 165 but I’m not weighing myself. I stepped on the scale last Sunday. I am really focusing on my body fat and how my clothes are fitting. My stomach is a big problem right now because I never lost any of the weight I gained while pregnant with Jack – and my stomach pouch is still here. This week I noticed it was MUCH less fatty so I am very excited about that. I can *FINALLY* see a little improvement!

Next Weeks Goals
:

  • Diet: I would like to work on less food in general – maybe smaller portions? I would like to keep track of my calories intake this week to see what I’m taking in. I’d love to get rid of the pop and drink much more water.
  • Activity: I hope to workout each day and up my miles to over 2 per day. Hopefully I will manage my time better this week.
  • Weight: I am not watching the scale very much but I’d love to see my stomach come down even more this week.

Comments

  1. I am getting ready to start my exercise program and need all the help I can get!

  2. yay for visible improvement!! you are doing awesome

  3. You’re doing great and have a great plan! Keep it up!

  4. I can’t imagine trying to run with teens! I can almost hear the whining while reading your post ;)

  5. Sadly, I have lost 100 lbs and the flab on my stomach just will not go away. I know it’s from having kids, but I would literally need a tummy tuck to get it flat.

  6. Helene Cohen Bludman says:

My daughter is a fitness trainer and is obviously in great shape. I wish I had her energy!

  7. very noble…and good for everybody…. :D

  8. Great Job I Really Need To Exercise MORE!!

  9. Great job!!! This week I had a terrible time staying on track with my eating. Some days I was so hungry I swear I could eat a horse!

  10. Bravo to you! You are sticking with it and even with teens who whine or rush you, you are sticking with it. I say you are doing amazingly well. Set small goals that are reachable… My only advice!

  11. it’s always so much easier to work out with someone else, makes the time go faster!

  12. I can’t wait until my girls are old enough to do races with me, but I have my sister as my work out buddy!

  13. I will link up next week when I start walking again with my daughters. Congratulations on the weight loss. You are right not to focus on the number as much as what you and how you feel. Visible results are always the best!

  14. I just need to get back to working out, never mind trying to keep up with anyone.

  15. So great that you’re doing this! I give you a lot of credit for trying to include your teens. That makes it so much harder!

  16. Good idea to focus on how your clothes fit. That’s definitely what makes us feel like we’re changing!

  17. I actually just did a workout and I realized how out of shape I really am. I haven’t exercised since the beginning of the month and it’s amazing what 2 weeks of being lazy can do to you lol

  18. It sounds like things are getting better! Maybe the girls will be happier about it when it’s more of a routine? I had a decent week with working out, but it’s been hard to stick to a healthy diet while we’re out of town, living in a hotel. I’m trying though.

  19. Sounds like you’re doing a great job! Thank you for sharing with us, and keep up the good work :)

  20. So encouraging to hear fitness stories from others such as yourself!

  21. katherine says:

I seriously need to get off my butt and exercise more!

  22. I need to get my butt in gear and jump on this band wagon.. i have some events coming up, it would nice to be healthier for!

  23. I need to get back to my schedule. Thanks
