New Swiffer Sweep & Trap | #NewFromSwiffer

Six kids plus daycare kids means lots of messes.

There’s just no way around that. It’s a fact of life with a big family. And along with a big family comes chores. That’s right, I’m that ‘mean mom’ who makes the kids clean each night… because I just can’t do it all.

There are three areas that need cleaning each evening and one of those areas is the kitchen. Each night the kids rotate which means one of the older kids cleans the kitchen, including sweeping and mopping the floor. Do they love it? No, of course not, but it needs to be done and I don’t have a million arms.

We’ve been through our fair share of brooms and mops and one of my favorite products is the Swiffer WetJet. Swiffer products make cleaning more convenient and that’s why I like them. Recently I’ve had the opportunity to try out the new Swiffer Sweep & Trap which is a brand new sweeper from Swiffer.

Swiffer Sweep & Trap

Swiffer Sweep & Trap uses rotating blades to pick up large particles and flicks them into a dirt bin. At the same time, the attached Swiffer Sweeper dry cloth traps dirt, dust and hair that brooms can leave behind. This innovative combination cleans up big and small messes in a single swipe.

Swiffer Sweep & Trap Features:

  • Sweep & Trap uses same dry cloths as the Swiffer Sweeper.
  • Lightweight
  • Compact
  • Has an ergonomic handle
  • Rotating blades and dirt bin are removable
  • No batteries required

My Thoughts:

Assembly. The Swiffer Sweep & Trap was easy to assemble, one of my kids put it together within about a minute. They were excited to put it to the test haha.

Use. The Swiffer Sweep & Trap kit came with some wood shavings to sweep up and use as a test and also came with some nuts and bolts to try sweeping up. We attached the dry cloth and gave it a shot. The nuts and bolts were swept up into the dirt bin very nicely. The wood shavings – not so much. Some of the smaller pieces and dusty-type pieces were left behind. It seems that the Sweep & Trap is great for the bigger pieces of crumbs and garbage but tends to leave some of the tiny crumbs… not sure why. I would kind of expect the dry cloth to pick up the tiny particles and it does pick up some. Just not all. Truthfully, I’m happier with my broom and dustpan and my Swiffer WetJet.
