This Week:

I’m sitting here thinking. Reflecting on the past week and the past month… wondering what I am doing wrong? And wondering what I need to change in order to make things calm down. I keep telling myself that it’s just a hectic time and things will mellow out but I’m starting to wonder if that is true. I had a list of errands I need to get done this week that involved leaving my house but I seemed to leave and only accomplish one thing at a time… and came back home frustrated that I didn’t get more done. Then I have a whole list of posts that need to be done. Mostly reviews or emails that need to be answered, and I am sure reps are wondering where my posts are or why they are not hearing from me. Then you throw my fitness routine into the week and it’s hardly existent. This does not make me happy. I need a change. I need specific times of day that I work and specific times a day that I work out and specific times a day that are MINE. Nobody else’s – MINE. I need a breather.

Emma and I are still doing the Move Nourish Believe Challenge that Fit Approach and Lorna Jane are hosting this month. It started on Feb. 3rd. This is our 3rd week.

Move Nourish Believe #MNBchallenge

I’m happy to see Emma excited about doing the daily challenges, it’s fun. Each day is a different challenge and you post to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #mnbchallenge #sweatpink #LornaJane and also tag @LornaJaneActive and @FitApproach. The challenges are not too hard but still challenging. This week was “Believe” challenges, all about the mind and heart. The prize is a $1000 shopping spree, which I am sure I won’t win. I am the least fit person doing this challenge. Everyone else is hardcore. I’m sure Emma won’t win either because she’s only 15 and I’m sure there are rules against that… but I didn’t want to tell her that. I wanted her to have fun – and she is. She’s doing a great job. She’ll remind me that we need to workout every night after I get Jack to bed. It’s been fun doing this with her.

Here is what my 3rd week looked like:

[[picture coming!]]

We had a ‘spoil yourself’ day, a ‘5 mindful minutes’ day, a ‘be happy’ day, a ‘thankful Thursday’ and a ‘share the love’ day.

The ‘spoil yourself’ day was just that… spoil yourself. The suggestions were to do something for yourself. Well we know that these days that is next to impossible for me so I made up a coconut, tangerine sugar scrub and took an extra long shower. I use it on my face and legs and feet. It’s good for the whole body. If anyone wants the recipe here’s an idea of how I make it:

Coconut, Tangerine Sugar Scrub:

  • Coconut oil, warmed.
  • Sugar (I love using brown sugar) – just enough to sop up the oil.
  • Tangerine Essential Oil (I love orange too!)

I just use about 2 spoonful’s of oil and just enough sugar to sop it all up. Make sure it’s warm/hot so by the time you put it on, it’s still nice and warm.

Scrub away! You’ll LOVE this!

So here’s a quick run-down of my week:

  • Diet: Eating has been ooookay. I didn’t drink hardly any water so hopefully I will do better this week. I did eat quite a bit of salads this week.
  • Activity:  Emma and I both did Revolt exercises this week and followed along with the Move Nourish Believe Challenge. We’ve been doing okay considering all of our running around this week. The workouts have been at the very end of the night though.
  • Weight: I started at 178 and as of last week I was down to 167 – last week I didn’t lose any at all. This week I have not weighed myself yet… I’ll update when I do.

Next Weeks Goals:

  • Diet: This will probably remain the same each week for a while… I really need to get back on track! Hopefully more home time. I’d like to drink a ton more water, get rid of pop 100%. In general I would like to eat “better” – just meaning a good meal or two during the day and no eating past about 7pm.
  • Activity: I hope to workout each day… AT THE GYM!! I really need the “me time” before I lose it.
  • Weight: I guess I’d be okay with another pound or two but I’d really love to see a 3-5 lbs. loss. I expect to pick up the weight loss this week since I will be doing more physically than I have been doing the at home exercises.

  1. It sounds like you’re going through a rough patch, but you CAN do this! I understand having to balance things. I struggle with that, and I don’t have nearly as many responsibilities as you do. I’d say try to make a schedule and do the best you can. Beating yourself up over it won’t help matters. You got this!

  2. LOVE that sugar scrub recipe!! Thanks for posting that! I’ll bookmark your blog so I can link up next time around 🙂 I used to blog about fitness frequently and haven’t lately – will be good motivation

  3. Love the scrub!!! And can’t wait to make this!
Girl, being a mom of 5 and knowing that we all have a ton going on. Don’t beat yourself up!!! I know its hard but celebrate the things you do! And realize it is a journey if you want it to last. Hang in there!

That scrub sounds awesome. So good, in fact, that I’d probably lick it off my skin and go way over my daily calorie allotment.
