Wordless Wednesday w/Linky | Broken Bones and Goose Eggs

Happy Wordless Wednesday!

It’s been a LONG week!

My mother-in-law has been out of sorts the last few months and so we snagged her car a couple weeks ago, in hopes to get her to stop driving. That means that I have the pleasure of taking her to all of her appointments and errands. So after running her around all week long, she managed to land herself in the hospital on Thursday… at the same time I was in the ER with Austin, who just-so-happened to break his arm that day.

Then next day I thought I could finally relax…

But nope.

Gracie decided to climb on Mike’s truck bumper, because it’s so much fun to try to get into the bed of the truck, even though we tell the kids that the bed of the truck is not a toy. Well, Gracie landed on her head.

Goose Egg on Head

In my 16 years of parenting, I have always been able to get bumps on the kids’ heads to go down with ice. Not this time. This time made me a bit nervous. And I’m one of those parents who never panics. If it’s broke, it’s broke. If it’s bleeding, it’s bleeding. Nothing much phases me. But this kinda did. I ended up trying to get ice to take down Gracie’s bump, and about 20 min. later I took her to the ER.

Hopefully this week will be a bit better!

  1. Ouch! :(

  2. Have mercy! Looks like a rough one. Better luck in the coming week!

  3. I’ve been having one of those months where I either need a frequent flyer system at the hospital or start calling it our second home. 2 of my 3 daughters broke arms through sport. One in two places and 7 casts later my third daughter obviously thought she was missing out and her hole in the heart that hasn’t given any grief for her 12 years, saw us in ER with her with severe chest pains. Still no idea what they were but will be glad when this month is over.

  4. Well, you’ve had quite the week haven’t you?! I hope the rest of it calms down for you. I’ll pray for a covering of protection over the kids, and your MIL. Maybe that will give you a little break! <3

  5. Oh no! I hope this week is much better for you all.

  6. Poor things! And poor mommy! Bumps on the head are no joke!

  17. Oh my goodness! When it rains it pours, huh? Hoping everything gets better for you!

  18. Oh my goodness, what a week for you and the family. Hope everyone starts feeling better soon and this will be a more relaxed week!

  19. That does not sound like fun. I am sorry things have been so stressful and jectic. Don’t you just wish you could wrap the kids in bubble wrap before letting them out of the house… and for some of my kiddos- as soon as they get out of bed in the morning.

  20. Karen Glatt says:

I hope that things are better for you and your daughter’s head is feeling better. I am sorry to hear about your son breaking his arm. Please try to have a good week! Thanks for everything you do!

  21. Yikes! This week HAS to be better, right?!
