Our Stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Peoria, IL

Courtyard Marriott in Peoria, Illinois
Mike called me from work telling me a job was posted and wondered if he should take it. I told him to sign up because it was an over-nighter which means me and the kids can go and meet him there and stay along with him.

My three older kids were not going to be home over the weekend so it would be a nice quiet weekend for me and the two little one’s to relax a little bit out of town and enjoy the hotel pool. We didn’t get to see much of Daddy, but we had fun anyway!
We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Peoria, Illinois. This is about 165 miles southwest of Chicago, about a three hour drive. Peoria is also about 130 miles south of Rockford, again about 3 hours. It took us about 2.5 hours to get there and it was a nice easy, but boring trip. If you know Illinois, you know what I mean. This is all you see most of the way…

As soon as we arrived, I was happy to see that this was a smaller hotel, not too massive. I parked just outside of the main entrance, nice and close which was nice because I had a bunch of baby stuff to lug in. It took me and the kids two trips with the stroller and we were in. I’m glad we got close parking because it was freezing!

This hotel is situated behind the Mall with a few other hotels and it’s a little hard to find. I pulled over in the mall and called the Courtyard Marriott to get some help. They were very helpful and guided me right in.

At the Courtyard Marriott we had a standard room with two Queen size beds. It was very nice. The room had a nice flat screen TV, desk, chair and the little nook/hallway by the bathroom had the bathroom sink on one side and on the other side was the coffee pot counter with  fridge below. Nice and convenient and out of the way of the rest of the room.

The Courtyard Marriott has a Fitness Center and Pool area with a jacuzzi too. Oh how I wish I had someone to watch the kids haha… I wanted to go in that jacuzzi so bad, but I had Baby Jack in my arms and Gracie will never leave my side. It was almost impossible to shoot the photo below on the left. She did love the water though because it was nice and warm. And every time we walked past the window to the pool area, Gracie wanted me to lift her up to see inside.

The Courtyard Marriott also has a little cafe inside called “The Bistro” which came in handy at about 10:00 pm! I was starving! The Bistro makes breakfast, sandwiches, soups and salads, appetizers and alcohol too. Daddy was beat and snoring already so Gracie and I took a walk down and ordered some food. Gracie got a yogurt and I got a Chicken Cesar Wrap, made fresh. It was GOOD! The hotel also has a little snack area too where you can buy chips and other snacks. It’s all pretty pricey, I wasn’t expecting it to be so much so I had to go back to my room to get more cash. It was late though and we had a busy day, so I was not going to be going out for food… so it was worth the price.

We had a really nice over night stay and would definitely go back. I’m very glad we got to join Mike and see him a bit over the weekend. He was glad too, he’s a big sap and gets all mushy if he’s away from us.

If you’re ever in the Peoria, IL area, or within a few hours, I would recommend the Courtyard Marriott.
