When I found out I was pregnant last October, I immediately knew I was going to breastfeed our little guy, but we were told he would need surgeries and would stay in the NICU a few times. This led me to start looking for breast pumps so that I could be more prepared and keep our baby on breast milk only, regardless of what was to come. I contacted Tommee Tippee and they provided me with their the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Single Electric Breast Pump for review. I ended up loving it (and Tommee Tippee in general) so I knew they would be my ‘go to’ if I needed more related products.
I realized that I was going to need bottles and considering I already had a Tommee Tippee Breast Pump, I figured it would be smartest to have Tommee Tippee Bottles. That way I could also use them with the pump.
Tommee Tippee generously sent me their Closer to Nature Newborn Starter Kit bottles.
Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Newborn Starter Kit Includes:
- 4x 9 oz. bottles with slow flow nipples 0m+
- 2x 5 oz. bottles with slow flow nipples 0m+
- 1 clear shield pacifier 0-6m
- 1 bottle and nipple cleaner
Closer to Nature Newborn Bottle Features:
- The nipple shape on these bottles mimics the mother’s breast and nipple with it’s shape and feel and movement which is super important when bottle feeding. This helps mom successfully combine breast and bottle with less nipple confusion.
- The nipple has a super-sensitive anti-colic, anti-gas valve which helps to reduce gas and possibly colic while feeding.
- These bottles are BPA and Phthalate free.
Now that my Baby Jack is here, I’ve been using my Tommee Tippee Breast Pump and getting ahead of myself a little bit with stored breast milk. In his short 8 weeks of life, there has been a few times now that I have needed to leave the house and leave Baby Jack home with Daddy. It’s nice to know that Daddy can take a bag of breast milk out of the freezer and use our Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Bottles with no worries.
Of course Baby Jack is not making this totally easy on us… he’s not a fan of bottles or pacifiers just yet. He tends to fight them a bit. We gave up on the pacifier for the time being, but the bottles he is going to have to deal with if Mama needs to go some where without him. My hubby says that he has to try and try and really ‘keep at it’ if he knows Baby Jack needs to eat. I know he’ll get the hang of it one of these days. I hope so for my sake anyway haha.
We really like our Tommee Tippee Bottles. We especially like the anti-colic and anti-gas valve because three of our kids had colic. It’s comforting to know that Tommee Tippee has taken this into consideration.
